The Electrical Safety Agency does not recommend charging using the ordinary electrical outlet, as the power used by an electric car is considerably larger than the ordinary electrical outlet is designed for.

Smart home can be ordered with 3.7 kW or 11 kW charging power. To illustrate the difference, a 3.7 kW charging station charges 20 kilometer/hour while an 11 kW charging station charges 60 kilometer/hour. All cars can be charged with both powers, but all cars cannot receive the higher charging power. Today's pure electric cars can usually utilize 11 kW while charging hybrids cannot. If you are unsure - please ask your car dealer. If you want a maximized future-proof solution, 11 kW is a sound choice, as the trend is going towards more and more cars being able to receive the higher power.
Charging box with fixed cable
Smart home with fixed cable means that you always have the charging cable close at hand, connected to the charging box. The charging cable is of type 2 design which is European standard and is used by Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Renault, Volkswagen, Volvo and other car dealers. If you have a car with type 1 outlet, we recommend you to buy a separate charging cable of model type 2 to type 1. For further guidance, please read more in the separate document about the car's outlet at the bottom of this page, where which car brands that use which outlet is listed.
The installation must be carried out by a qualified installer. We offer installation at a fixed price throughout Sweden. Exactly what is included in the fixed price is in the separate document list below, if other work than that is necessary, it comes with an additional cost.
Is a higher fuse required?
Whether you choose a Smart home with 3.7 kW or 11 kW, you need at least a 16 Ampere fuse in the house. The difference between the two power outputs is that three phases are used simultaneous in a 11 kW charging box, while 3.7 kW only uses one phase. We recommend that the house has a 20 A or 25 A fuse not to utilize all available power to charge the electric car. If necessary, it is possible to upgrade the households main fuse when the charging box is installed.
Load at home subsidy
InCharge Smart home was covered by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency's loading at home subsidy, which mean that private individuals earlier could apply for funding for the investment and installation cost of a charging box. The subsidy was granted in 2018 but is not included in the 2019 budget. For more info please contact the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, at Naturvårdsverket.
An invoice is sent to you after your Smart home has been delivered. The electricity you use for charging is being billed to the household's electricity subscription. If you use your charge card to charge on the go in the InCharge public charging network, a separate invoice will be sent where you pay for what you have charged. We also offer e-invoice which can be selected when you place the order.
